Some Weekend Self Care

Cheers to the freaking weekend! The weekend is our time to prioritize ourselves, we work hard all week so that we can have some fun and give ourselves some TLC when Friday EOD hits.

Here are some ideas for how to put yourself first this weekend!

SLEEP IN

Okay, I know what you're thinking; DUH! But not everyone allows themselves to sleep in on the weekends! You work all week, you want to be able to fit in all your errands or activities on the weekend! I personally am at fault of this quite often. Not to mention the fact that your internal clock sometimes just wakes you up when you'd get up for work anyways. But you don't always need to get up and seize the day! The day will be waiting for you after you've gotten some much deserved beauty rest.

Make a yummy breakfast!

The weekend is the time to indulge in things you don't have time for during the busy week. Why not make yourself a nice breakfast! Pancakes, waffles, french toast, monkey bread, eggs, bacon, mimosas! The possibilities are endless. Or, if you want to take it easy, make some classic store bought cinnamon rolls, curl up and watch a movie!

Order out for breakfast

If you wake up and don't feel like cooking, treat yourself and order in! Get bagels or order from a local diner! As long as it makes you happy, why not indulge!

Brunch! Brunch! Brunch!

I mean, it is the weekend, and what would a weekend be without brunch? Mimosa, anyone?

Go for a walk (or drive) and get some caffein!

We sit in chairs inside all week, assuming the weather permits, get outside and stretch! Why not hit a coffee shop while you're at it too, nothing says a leisurely afternoon like a glass of iced tea and some nice sunshine. And if you can't walk, doesn't hurt to hop in the car, roll down the windows, put on your favorite radio station (okay I know, I know, the cool kids are streaming through Apple or Spotify now) and drive to get a treat!

Work out

If you don't have time during the week but want to get active, then the weekend is a great time to take advantage if you're feeling the need to move!

...or Skip the Work out

But also don't stress yourself out, the weekend should be fun and relaxing, if the idea of working out adds pressure or feels like more work, then that should be a hard no.

Craft!

Hit up Michaels or Hobby Lobby and get your creative juices flowing! Paint something, crochet or knit, or even bake something yummy! Crafting is a great self care activity that you can do while listening to music or a podcast, or while watching tv. If you need inspiration, I recommend checking out my friend Creativity by B on Instagram!

Meet up with Friends!

After a long week, one of my favorite things to do is meet up with my friends. Especially when the weather's nice, we all get together and picnic! We get to enjoy the day, play some music, eat some good food and catch up! 10/10 would recommend.
